October Fun

Wow October is always a busy month for us but this one seemed exceptionally busy. We had two birthdays. All the fun Fall activities, and Halloween. Bryton turned 5 and Adam turned 27, I can’t believe that either one of them is that old. Adams birthday was on conference weekend so he actually got to sleep in on Sunday. I think that may have been his favorite birthday present. Our family came over that night for dinner and to open presents. Bryton really wanted a Army birthday party, I hesitated about this at first but it actually turned out really well, and him and his friends had so much fun.

Adams Birthday

It was such a lazy Sunday we all just stayed in comfy clothes watched conference and just enjoyed being together!!

OK I know I am not Betty Crocker, but Bryton really wanted a tank cake, so I tried.

We had an obstacle course for one of the games during Bryton’s birthday. It was so funny, the boys were really intense. Bryton going under the ropes.

Time for presents!!

Pinata!!!!

The boys could not break the pinata so Uncle Weston and Dad decided to .

free for all for the candy. Later Uncle Kody came and we played drill Sargent says, which was a big hit. I cant believe that Bryton is 5, I love him so much.

Halloween 2008
We always go to the Asay's for Halloween. Chris makes Sloppy Joes and then we go trick or treating. This year Cliff and Casey came down (Adam's brother and sister in law) so it was great. We went over to my mom's and dad's too
, and got a special treat from grandma KK. Bryton had a great day at pre-school. They all dressed up and had a party.

The Happiest Place On Earth

So I have been horrible at blogging lately. So much has happened so I thought I might try to catch up on a few things. First of all, Disneyland!!! We went with Adam's brother's family and it could not have been a better time. Here is a picture with all of us and MICKEY!
Bryton and Ashton(Cliff and Casey's son) are very close in age so they loved being together. It was also nice for us adults to get to trade off kids for some of the rides that they were to small to go on. I think the highlight of the trip was Jedi Force Training. Bryton was so excited to get the "force". We waited about a half hour before the show started so that we could be up front Bryton would have a better chance at being picked to participate. luckily they said "young man with the faux hawk please come up" His face said it all he was excited but also a little scared. It was so cute. Of course I was almost in tears seeing my son get the "force" No not because I am Star Wars fan, I actually have never seen any of them and have no desire to, but because my baby is getting so big, and I love him so much.

I think that he was a little scared of Darth Vader, he was really big.

Paige did great she was so good to take a nap everyday in the stroller. She loved seeing all the characters form a far but got a little scared up close. I think that her favorite part was the parades at Disneyland and California Adventure. I am so thankful that we were able to go and spend time together as a family and make great memories.

Hopefully this is the only jail that I will see either one of these boys in :)

Waiting for the Parade to start

Handy Manny and Bryton

Bryton truly believed that he could pull the sword form the stone.
Adam was taking the pictures but Tiger was not going to let him get away without a picture of his own.
Paige was so excited when she first saw Mickey. It was great being there during the Halloween Celebration.Bryton on the bus ride to Disneyland, what a stud.
Back at the hotel.
I need to stop with the pictures I know, but it was such a great time.

Happy Birthday Grandma

Surprise Grandma!! Happy 78th Birthday!!

Everyone who knows my grandma loves her. She is the kindest my thoughtful person I have ever met, I don't know what I would do without her. She is always there for me and all my family. For her 78th Birthday we decided to surprise her, the Tuesday before we left for Disneyland. I felt so bad because we were leaving on her actual B-Day. It actually turned out really well because she had absolutely no idea. I asked her and Kaitlyn to come over and watch the kids for a little while, and of course grandma was happy to do it. When she walked in she found all of her family including her younger sister, who is know in a nursing home in Springville. Grandma goes down there everyday never misses , just to be with her and take care of her. We had Grandmas favorite foods for dinner including fried potatoes, love those. I grew up on them. And just spent time together as a family.

Grandma's reaction.... Of course later she cried, just like all of us do it must have been passed on.

Blowing out the candles!!

Grandma I love you!! I am so thankful everyday for you my life and my children's life. I am thankful for your love, your laughter, your famous back rubs (that I still love today), your strong testimony of the church, and just the way that you make me feel when I am around you. You are truly an angel!! Happy Birthday.

Soccer

I love the fall and this year it has been even better. Bryton got to play soccer for the first time this year. Spanish Fork's soccer program for 4 year olds includes playing with your parents (mom and dad are not big soccer players) so we decided to put him in Springville's. It has been great and Bryton loves it. He says "not as much as baseball though." Bryton celebrating after making a goal.
He is so funny about keeping track of the score. For those of you that know Bryton you know that some times he is a little intense about things, well winning is one of those things. We try to keep telling him that it's for fun and that it was a tie, but he will inform us of the score and if his team won or lost. his coaches have been great and he has learned so much.

Paige's favorite thing to do at the soccer games. Drink grandpa's Pepsi.

This is such a great age to watch they are all so cute.

RIP Froggy Swimmer

So now that I am kind of getting into this whole blogging thing I am going to play a little catch up. Last month we had the opportunity to go to Payson Lakes for our ward camp out. It fell on the same weekend as the opening day of the bow hunt. Bryton could not miss out on hunting with grandpa so we decided to go Friday night to Payson Lakes and go Saturday to Diamond Fork and meet my family there. The Ward camp out was a lot of fun. The lake was so pretty. Our ward had Family month in August so this was a great activity.

Bryton and his frog.
He named him Froggy Swimmer. He actually did not catch the frog himself a cute little neighbor boy did and then gave it to Bryton. He was sooo excited. He really wanted to take it home. Of course dad was not to happy about it, but between me and Bryton we talked him right in to it. Much of the rest of our time camping was spent, finding a home for the frog, playing with the frog, and finding food for the frog. When we made it up to Diamond Fork Bryton was so excited to show everyone his new frog. Uncle Zac was great to help Bryton find food for Froggy Swimmer. Sunday before we went home we wanted to go hike and see if we could see anything. I was a little worried about Bryton hiking I thought that he would get tired, so grandma came just in case. Adam and Paige stayed back in the trailer had a nap and played.
Bryton did great. He hiked for a bout 45 min. until the trail ended and then Grandma, Kade, and Bryton decided to rest for while. As you can see they were having a lot of fun. Grandpa, Zac, and I went up the mountain the rest of the way to see if we could see anything. I have to admit after hiking with them for a few minutes I was wondering if I should have stayed back too. I was in brush up past my waste and there are so many cows up there I just kept stepping in cow poop. But I was positive that we were going to get an elk. The only thing that we saw were sage hens. Which scared me to death when they flew out. It was a great time though. After we got back to camp Adam had everything ready to go ( I love him). Adam really did not want to take the frog home with us, so we told Bryton that we needed to go put the frog in the creek. To my surprise he was just fine with that. I think he was tired of finding food for him. When we had left to go hiking I had made sure to put him in the shade under the trailer, but we were gone for quite a while and I think that Froggy Swimmer got a little to hot. Bryton had no idea so Adam and him just went down to the creek and let him free. Bryton came up and said "He swam right down the creek." I was just glad he had know idea. It was a great weekend!! Here are some more pics.

Bryton's First Day Of School

I cant believe that summer is over! All I can think about is next year at this time my baby will be going to Kindergarten. The first day of preschool was great...this year. It was fine last year at least for Bryton but I cried and watched the clock the entire time that he was gone. The second day on the other hand was not the best for Bryton or for me. I had to leave him crying yelling "wait mom just one more question." What a difference a year makes. Bryton loves his preschool and his teachers so he was very excited to go back and make new friends. Last year he had two neighbor boys that went to the same preschool with him. Which was nice for the whole car pooling thing, but this year he was on his own. I was a little worried but he didn't blink an eye.
